KARACHI: The Signature 28th National Scrabble Championship (masters) will kick off at Beach Luxury hotel on Friday. The three-day tournament comprises 27 gruelling matches.
The top 50 players in the country, based on national rating, are eligible to take part.
Waseem Khatri will be attempting to win a record eighth national title. This year he will face stiff challenge from the former world youth champion Moiz Baig and the vastly improved Abdullah Abbasi.
Twenty players recently selected for team Pakistan at the World Youth Scrabble Championship will be taking part in the championship along with the senior players.
